Presentation of the results of the Global Report on Food Crises 2017

The Global Report on Food Crises 2017: a new public product opening access to consensus-based food insecurity vital analysis drawn from multiple institutions. The compilation of this fresh released report opened doors to a new and politically innovative collaboration between the EU and UN Agencies (FAO, UNICEF and WFP), FEWS NET, Joint Research Centre, and regional bodies (CILSS, IGAD and SICA). It presents findings on the countries and/or population groups facing high severity and magnitude of acute food insecurity based on the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC)/Cadre Harmonisé (CH). FAO is pleased to present the results of the report and the global network initiative to promote better-informed and coordinated decisions to respond to food crises.
