Nutritional Status Assessment and Analysis

This course covers the basic concepts of malnutrition, describes how nutritional status is assessed, and identifies the most commonly used nutrition indicators, as well as the criteria to be used when selecting the indicators in specific contexts and situations.

Audience

The target audience of the e-learning course includes:

  • Mid-level managers, technical staff, field personnel who are involved in the collection, management, analysis, and reporting of food security information.
  • Planners, policy formulators and programme managers who are involved in monitoring progress in poverty reduction, and meeting food security goals and targets.

Content

The course consists of 3 lessons, of approximately 30 to 45 minutes duration each:

  • Lesson 1 Nutritional Status and Food Security
  • Lesson 2 Assessing Nutritional Status
  • Lesson 3 Nutritional Status Indicators
