Climate Change and Food Security: Risks and Responses

This paper aims to provide an overview of the effects of climate change on food security and nutrition, and to explore ways to reduce negative impacts through adaptation and resilience.

It serves three purposes:

  1. to raise awareness on the fact that climate change is already impacting the food security and nutrition situation of the most vulnerable;
  2. to describe precisely the pathways by which climate change impacts people's food security, and to show the range of actions needed;
  3. to fuel the ongoing discussions on how to operationalize adaptation of agriculture and food systems to climate change.
